Drifting

it is boredom that plagues me

and haunts me

and follows

in day to night

with glow of moonlight

and flitting sun through clouds

I wonder at my future

the fullness of its hold

for my goals are gone

and idle stay my hands

unhappiness creeps through window

and perches on the sill

in the glass I see my dim reflection

a bewildered one with no affection

for an old and withered soul
