Freeze Frame Imagination

I can stare at a shoelace in my mind, tie it, and loose it again.

I can move pieces over the chess board, before swiftly forgetting where they were. I can climb a mountain, throw down stones, and freeze them midair with such precision, that I often can’t tell whether or not I’m actually there.

When it comes to chess, I can’t come close to playing a full game in mind. Something of which drives me up a wall after having devoted nearly seven years of my life to the art.

Unfortunately, and much to my dismay. My strongest mental feat is the ability to freeze space and time within the confines of my mind. I can see an entire rain shower, zoom in, rotate, and then highlight a single droplet. Viewing it in a form of silent perfection, I can narrow my vision further. Appraising its beauty before painting it gold.

However, there it remains; fixed in space forever, held in place amongst a backdrop. An amber hue, before a million dots of blue.
