A Message For President Trump
Good morning/afternoon/evening President Trump,
I hope all is well.
My name is Jason Hoskins, I’m a Co-Author of 36 books written with my sister who currently attends Princeton University. I’m also an Air Force Veteran (2016-2022), and a current student at Georgetown University. I wanted to ask why you feel it is necessary to move towards appeasement with the nation state known as Russia?
The reason I ask is due to the fact that Britain tried to apply the same strategy as it related to Adolf Hitler in the late 1930s, when he began seeking to annex Austria and eventually Czechoslovakia. Whereupon afterwards he went on to start up a hot war with Poland, sparking the horrific event that was WWII. Vladimir Putin has made it perfectly clear as to what his intentions are for both the eastern and western hemispheres of Europe. That intention being for the reconstruction of the Soviet Union, which may also include Western European states this time around as well. As a side note, pulling out of NATO (which it seems your administration is keen to do) was also done by a republican administration in the 1930s, after America alongside the European powers allowed for Ethiopia to be invaded by Italy in 1935. This NATO Alliance of the 1920s (sustained into the mid 1930s) was called, “The League of Nations…”
In short, all this is to say that after Ukraine has been defeated, Putin will seek to take Poland. I doubt he will go for Germany immediately, since America has bases there. Otherwise, if Putin succeeds in Ukraine. It will give the green light for China to take Taiwan, and all the other Asian countries in its sphere of influence. North Korea will then annihilate South Korea once and for all, and Israel will continue carving up the Middle East. Is this the future of which you envision?
If this is the case, there will be a third world war via the powderkeg of appeasement. An instrument as I have already mentioned, failed in the 1930s. Unfortunately, strategic confrontation with Russia via the mechanism of maneuvering is the only path forward. For once a man ignites a hot war, he will only feign diplomacy as a means to continue down the road he is set upon. Never for an actual means of peace.
Putin is a victim of human nature. For once a man acquires everything that can be acquired, the mechanism of status drives him to move towards ever greater objects of acquisition. An impossible feat for a species confined to but a singular planet. In the absence of outward planetary expansion, he turns towards his neighbors, something of which your administration seems to be seeking in kind with Mexico and perhaps even Canada. Mexico isn’t an enemy, but with troops at the border. One can only assume that you might be taking up the position that Russia recently did against Ukraine. Could this perhaps be an actual fact?
Alas, I’ve rambled long enough. For these words will in high likelihood fall upon deaf ears, or none at all. As is the general way of the world. If by some happenstance an American of whom still holds the rare ability to read and write, comprehends this essay. I ask that our president refrain from the temptation to continue alienating our allies and terrifying our neighbors. Less we sleepwalk down the path of our own destruction.
“First of all, during the war, everybody has problems, even you. But you have nice ocean and don't feel now, but you will feel it in the future.” Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy, March 1, 2025; Oval Office Press Conference.
I think President Zelenskyy may actually be right. For what he is saying is that Russia has long range nuclear weapons. Weapons of which Ukraine has already had a small taste of via Russian IRBMs. This is also to say that Zelenskyy merely sought to remind America that it cannot simply isolate and kowtow, in the hopes of escaping the war path. WWIII has already begun, Volodymyr is just the first and only sovereign so far who’s been forced to accept that fact.
