Past to Present

I wonder, ponder, think back

at the girl I was; so frail

and fragile —

Now,

I am not much larger

Not much taller

than that girl I was.

I am still climbing

toward the beyond of the woman I seek

To be.

She moves like wind,

A gust of air

So far unseen,

Not far to come.

For in my adult years, while I

hide myself and

wrap tight all my colors from

the sun

— I hope one day to reflect

the rainbow

obscured within my waves.
