Ivy Welcome

and my mind is in the state

Of processing

like a frozen computer

Overwhelmed and flooded

by a hurricane of information

Of people and information so thick,

I cannot keep up

can barely breathe in my wade

through muck and mud

Which strives to hold me

I cannot remember names

and all faces look familiar

A sea and ocean of bodies

As music blasts and my heartbeat

syncs with the rhythm and pound of hip-hop

on the lawn

And the lights shine out in darkness

But up, I look at stars, knowing

that tomorrow will be another day to remember

A memory to treasure with new

people to meet

and places to go

things to learn

and ways to grow.
