Autumn Rain… A Poem Of Cold Fall

Leaves fall and twirl

spinning like life fallen,

into death.

the rain sprinkles

on red and yellow piles

boots crunch the brown leaves

and autumn winds pass in spindly trees

Oh, how the cold has come.

we bundle fast in the hope

it will not last

and watch the fading sun.

our reflection wavers

in puddled rain and pools which catch the drops

you rub your nose,

pray against a cold

in the frosty fall to come.
